According to reality TV personality Mercy Eke, winning Season 4 of Big Brother Naija was a significant victory for young women worldwide.
Mercy revealed in a recent interview with BellaNaija that her victory influenced other women both inside and beyond the reality TV industry in addition to giving her more self-confidence.
“I came into the show prepared. I was ready. And when I won the show, I did it for all the young women who have been told that they can’t. I did it for all of us,” she said.
Mercy, the 2019 BBNaija series’ first female winner, cleared the path for other female winners, including Phyna (2022), Ilebaye (2023), and the newly crowned Imisi (2025).
She attributed her historic success in large part to her preparedness and confidence.
