After being accused of stealing, reality personality and disc jockey Tolani Shobanjo, also known as Tolani Baj, has spoken out.
An event promoter made the accusation.
The reality star allegedly received payment for a gig in Halifax, Canada, but failed to appear, according to the promoter.
The promoter claims that Tolani Baj pocketed the deposit and failed to refund it.
In response to the accusations, Tolani claimed that the promoters’ lack of due diligence was the reason she quit.
She wrote: “I want to take a moment to address some of the false narratives circulating about the recent event in Halifax. I was booked for a show, I showed up excited and fully ready to perform which there’s visible proof of that on my page.
“Unfortunately, due to the fact that a sound check was not conducted (which is a standard part of my contract) a technical issue with the controller went unnoticed until it was in time for me to play. I was informed that the venue wasn’t ready when we arrived at the city because of weather conditions, which led to the event being moved from a day party to a night party.
“Had the sound check been done, the issue could’ve been caught and resolved before the performance. It’s quite disappointing to be called names or accused of theft when I was present at the venue & ready to deliver. I was paid 50% at the end of this booking for transparency purposes which is understandable due to the unforeseen circumstance.”
